Giant City State Park was where we stopped by on Sunday before our way back home. It offered a variety of trails ranging from easy to difficult level. We chose several easy and moderate level trails that showcased different sceneries and geographic features.

Each trail displayed its own beauty and rawness that is unique from one another.

The colors of the leaves were changing more vibrantly than what we witnessed at Shawnee National Forest the day before. Once again, the dogs were troopers and turned out to be excellent hiking companions despite my initial worry before the trip started.

We came back home a little tired, but really happy. I wish I was able to capture some of the sceneries from our drive back home. Between the vastness of agricultural fields and the simple beauty of Mississippi River that divided the rural Missouri and Illinois, I would say I have become mesmerized by Midwest beauty.
