“Content” is probably the word I would use to describe the year for me and my little family. We enjoyed a year of peacefulness and went back to focusing on our family and friends. The longer you live, the more realize just how much family is important for one’s happiness and we did our best to live by that this year.

“Fulfillment” is the motto I hope to live by as I greet 2018. I realize that life can’t necessarily be fulfilled in one year as time is always moving forward and evolving, but one can hope to achieve a fulfilling year in the amount of time provided during that period. I think somewhere along this journey of medical residency and being a resident’s spouse, I have lost the ambition to live each day to the fullest. Sure, each day is satisfactory, but I want each day to be fulfilled even if it may be full of bad events. I hope I’ll have more opportunities to share my journey toward a more fulfilling life in this little corner of cyberspace.

For many people I know, this year had brought many hardships to their health and happiness. I wish the year 2018 would bring more kindness and peacefulness to all of us and around us.

Goodbye 2017. Hello 2018.
