As our last hoorah for the year 2017, we hosted a gathering of friends from two polarizing worlds – medical professionals and university staffs. It was our first time in which we had coworkers/friends from both sides.

My party-preparation-frenzy began the day before by deep cleaning the house all day. One of my weird logic for throwing a party have been so I have an excuse to clean the house. Spending 7+ hours cleaning a 2,400 sqft house is definitely not the most fun thing a 31-year-old can do, but it was necessary. Boy, my was dirty! Today (or technically, yesterday since I’m typing this up near 2am on New Year’s Eve), I was all about the cooking frenzy. If you happened to know me, I love to feed people. I tend to go way overboard with the amount of food I cook/the variety I make. Tonight’s menu consisted of 8 different dishes. All I remember today was cooking…literally.

Everyone really had a great time, myself included. The dogs probably were the happiest of all the free human food they got from us. Both Lilly and Stark are suffering from food coma at the moment. They probably will not eat tomorrow. I might be totally wrong about that.

Even though the work I had to put in was time-consuming and rather laborious, it’s always nice to have people over and enjoy each other’s company.
