Jack Vettriano’s “The Singing Butler” is one of my all-time favorite modern paintings. I first encountered this painting during a poster sale at Texas Tech campus (when I attended there for college), and immediately fell in love. The poster was only $10 (?) at the time. That poster moved with me to several different places for many years. Because I was a poor college student, and back then, I didn’t appreciate the longevity of products, the poster traveled around frameless. Overtime, it got wrinkled, bent, and eventually torn. Very sad times.
Ever since then, I would occassionaly search for this poster in hopes that it would be with me again.
A few days ago, I happened to scroll through items in Facebook Market and saw this!!! The artwork framed in a beautiful frame for only $15!!!! I don’t know why the person wanted to sell it, but the stars were lined up for me to snatch it. I quickly contacted the seller, drove to her house the next day and walked away with this gorgeousness after leaving $15 cash underneath the seller’s doormat.
Way to go bargain shopping! This is why consignmnet shopping is legit. Anyway, it is now nicely sitting in my home office. 🙂
